Tom, he was a piper's son
He learnt to play when he was young
The only tune that he could play

The wind shall blow my top-knot off
All the little girls and boys
Were so delighted with his noise
They danced and sang while he did play

Tom now learnt another tune
'The cow that jumped over the moon'
